Cross-dimensional cameo & crossovers
One of the ways one can use to show off cameos and in comics that usually would not have the chance, probably due to world-design, campaign, setup and artists integrity, is to take the characters on a dimensional travel, visiting several comics along the way, meeting characters they would not be able to at home... its quite legal, everyone knows that whatever lives in other dimensions has no influence on the rules of the comics homeworld! :)
Off course, if the characters are WCA (WebComicAware), they don't visit worlds, but actual comics... its all just in the way you see it...
One of the artists who's undertaken such a trip is Al Schroeder's Mindmistress who used her catwalk to visti and walk by a multitude of other worlds while going from place to place back in the Horrible Thoughts storyline.
Off course, none can compete with the multi-comic-jumping spree that the 4 escaping characters from Damonk's Framed!!! took back in 2001 during the Great Escape... its legendary, and though the Archive HAS started the tracking, there's still a lot of work to do... hopefully more on that later.
What brought up this subject is my recent ending of the tracking of a world-jump trip the crew of Insanity of Xade took almost a year ago, but due to some delay and the Archive of one othe involved comics just recently having been brought in order, I didn't get around to do it before now...
Having been stranded in another world (the comic of Attach This after a recent crossover), Alex and Invisicat get help from Alexis to travel the dimensions home... which brings them first to Magical Misfits, and from there to Public Humiliation before returning home.
A little trip that turned out to become two crossovers and could have become even longer if not Xade (the artist), for various reason, had to cut it short, so therefore the crew's appearences in Drunken Scribblings and The KAMics (which ran a crossover of their own) had to be counted as cameos.
